There are quite a few names, that may be of interest to family researchers, in the pages listed below. I am hoping to add more at a later date. Meanwhile, hope you find somebody. Although I have been as careful as I can in transcribing these documents, they are unchecked and there may be errors. Therefore these transcripts can only be used as secondary sources. Yorkshire Poll Book 1741 (extracts) - A transcription of some of those people who had voted in the 1841 poll who were landholders in Yorkshire. Landholding was the key to having a vote in Yorkshire - not residency. There are several hundred names in this list, people who owned land in and around the Sheffield district. Articles - Sheffield Daily Independent 12 November 1918 - These articles are just a few pieces from that day's newspaper. The Armistice to end World War I had been signed the day before and the paper was full of statistics, a complete list of the terms of surrender and lots more about the forces and their bravery. However, I have selected some of the more mundane and day to day happenings. I may add some of the WWI information at a later date. Notices - Sheffield Daily Independent 12 November 1918. This page contains notices of marriages, deaths, and memorials plus a Roll of Honour list of those who had fallen in the war in the past few weeks. Notices - Sheffield Weekly Independent 15 July 1905 - marriages and obituaries from the Sheffield area Map of Sheffield circa 1780 - I don't know now where I got this map from - I have so many book but can't find them all at the moment - will post a source when I find it again Map of Central Attercliffe based on 1853 plan - same as the map above Attercliffe Before Inclosure - from Fairbank's Map of Sheffield dated 1793 from the book "Forgotten Facts about the History of Sheffield" by Carolus Paulus
