family researchers, in the pages listed below. I am hoping to add
more at a later date. Meanwhile, hope you find somebody.
Although I have been as
careful as I can in transcribing these documents, they are unchecked and
there may be errors. Therefore these transcripts can only be used as

Yorkshire Poll
Book 1741 (extracts) - A transcription of some of those people who had voted in the 1841 poll
who were landholders in Yorkshire. Landholding was the key to having
a vote in Yorkshire - not residency. There are several
hundred names in this list, people who owned land in and around the
Sheffield district.

Sheffield Daily Independent
12 November 1918 - These articles are just
a few pieces from that day's newspaper. The Armistice to end World
War I had been signed the day before and the paper was full of statistics,
a complete list of the terms of surrender and lots more about the forces
and their bravery. However, I have selected some of the more mundane
and day to day happenings. I may add some of the WWI information at
a later date.
